Creativity In The Church

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN. POUR A CUP OF COFFEE INTO YOUR FAVORITE MUG, PUT ON A PAIR OF COZY WOOL SOCKS, AND SIT IN YOUR GRANDPA'S CHAIR ADJACENT TO THE FIREPLACE. IT'S TIME TO GET SERIOUS.

I LOVE FONTS. I LOVE AESTHETICS. I LOVE COOL DESIGNS, GOOD MUSIC, AND ANYTHING CREATIVE. I BELIEVE GOD GAVE US CREATIVITY TO HELP MAKE THE WORLD A LITTLE BIT OF A PRETTIER PLACE. ART IS A GOOD THING AND IT WAS GIVEN TO US NOT TO HIDE, BUT TO SHINE BRIGHTLY.

WE HAVE PERMISSION TO MAKE THE CHURCH A CREATIVE AND PRETTY LOOKING BUILDING –– I PROMISE YOU, IT IS OKAY. THE ISSUE IS NOT WITH WHETHER WE CAN USE EDISON BULBS OR MAKE A DENT IN THE YOUTH BUDGET FOR BETTER COUCHES, THE ISSUE LIES WITH PUTTING THESE GOOD THINGS ABOVE THE NEED FOR COMMUNITY, WORSHIP, PRAYER, AND SCRIPTURE. GOD DID NOT CALL US TO BE COOL; HE CALLED US TO LOVE GOD AND LOVE PEOPLE –– PERIOD. IF WE CAN USE ART AND SWEET LOOKING AESTHETICS AND GOOD DESIGNS AND HIGH QUALITY PHOTOGRAPHS AS A TOOL TO BRING PEOPLE INTO HIS LOVE, THEN JESUS IS SMILING.

CHURCH WORKERS, PLEASE BE CREATIVE AND PLEASE KEEP THIS GENERATION IN MIND. AS A YOUNG PERSON, I CAN SEE THE BEAUTY OF GOD AND THE POTENTIAL OF THE THE CHURCH AND WE WANT TO FOLLOW IN KING SOLOMON'S FOOTSTEPS BY CREATING A BUILDING THAT BEAUTIFULLY REFLECTS THE GLORY OF THE GOD THAT WE WORSHIP.
