The First Thanksgiving took place in the autumn of 1621. After the Pilgrims, led by Governor William Bradford, survived a devastating winter that took half their company, the Lord saw fit to bless them with His good providence.

The gospel was rediscovered in the 16th century during the Protestant Reformation. These weren’t the conjurings of Luther, Calvin, or Zwingli. They were a few of the many who knew the Church of Rome had departed from biblical fidelity. The core of the Reformation is that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to Scripture alone, for the glory of God alone.
